Clydesdale ProFlex 856 Rear Suspension Question

When choosing between Noleen and Risse for a rear shock replacement on a ProFlex 856 for a 250 lb rider, what is my best choice?

My current set up is a firm Speed Spring, but my ODS has a oil seal problem.

Any feedback from others 856 riding Clydesdale's is appreciated.

Thanks

Scott

The Noleen shocks are coil/oil aren't they? So you can customise the ride to suit your erm.. mass by using a stiffer spring or a different weight oil?

Risse do coil and air shocks but I'm guessing the air shocks are mainly used for cross country riding (ie racing snakes) In which case it should be a simple case of adjusting the air pressure.

I'm no Clydesdale but for xc riding I'd choose the air shock everytime, may be worth checking with Risse if there is a maximum reccommended rider weight for their shocks, but I'm sure they could customise a shock if needed.

Risse Genesis have worked well for my 200 lb frame. Can't speak for an extra 50 or the Noleen set up. Love my Genesis and although $200 seems spendy I think I paid that about 10 years ago. Seems a bargain now.
