1998 Kona Cinder Cone (Eggplant) : 16"

Clappy

Dirt Disciple
Looking to move on my son's Kona Cinder Cone 1998 : Eggplant

It is well used, but would be a good refurb project as the frame is sound, and one of the last Steel Kona's. Size 16" (bottom bracket to top tube - classic Kona measuring :) ).

Upgrades from standard :

XT Thumbshifts (SL-M732 with secret "8 Speed" click)
XT V-brake levers (SL-B739)
Mavic X517 rims on LX hubs
Azonic Bars
Halo Twinrail Tyres (covered less than 200 miles - loads of tread left !)
Kona CX saddle
Jagwire cable kit (green)
Planet X grips
Wellgo DMR V8 copies
X-lite (red) headset spacer

Original Kit includes :

Richey logic headset
STX Front and Rear mech
STX crank and rings (3 x 8 set-up)
Rockshox Indy C (could do with a service for sure, but still supple !)
Tahomma Sonne 4 stem
Avid Single Digit 1 V-Brakes
Kona Thumb Seatpost
Kona Seat Collar

I'm looking for £125 for the complete bike, plus shipping (I can box it up and arrange) or collection, which i think is a fair price :) Location is Melton Mowbray, home of the Pork Pie !

Thanks for looking ! Any questions let em know...

Looks like an 18"er to me.

I've measured it... Middle of bottom bracket to middle of tope tube. It is 18" to the top of the seat tube.

Re:

Yup. Early kona frame measurements were to top of seat tube because of slanted top tube geometry. Nice bike for the money. Got one just like it. Should sell pretty quick. For more details on early kona sizing see: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=233453
