1996 StumpJumper A1 FS - New life for my old friend

Retro Newbie
My '96 StumpJumper was a gift for my 30th birthday. It came close to being put on the curb a few times, and I'm so glad I always came to my senses and held on to it. Over the years, it's gotten a few new parts to bring it in to the future (rigid fork, shorter stem, wider handlebars, dropper seat post, 1X drivetrain, tubeless wheel setup, V-brakes), but it still has that old school spirit. Today, it takes me everywhere - up mountains, down gravel roads, and through wooded paths. A joy to ride for many years to come.

Nice to see the old birthday present still in regular use today, a one-owner bike. 👍
Like yourself, my own Stumpjumper A1 FS is in regular use by myself (well maybe not up the mountains!). In fact it’s my only useable bike at the moment: the Hardrock has been lent out, and the suspension on the Cannondale has collapsed. ☹️
