It’s a bit on the rusty side, I can’t tell on my phone but is that all rust around the BB shell?

Not sure tbh, at first look I thought it was just accumulated crud but looking closer it very well could be rust. Interesting place for the shifters yeh, not seen that before either can't be easy to use tho.
