1980’s Patrick Quill Cleats?

Anyone recall what the cleats were that these Patrick Shoes were designed for. Clearly these are for slotted cleats for quill pedals. But the single hole positioned so far forward, along with milled and the serrated and recessed flat bed for the cleats, seems unique to me.

These TA are similar also looks like they were nailed as well

I’ve seen those before. Unfortunately quite different. You’ll notice the curve of the base plate on those. The shoe is tightly milled with parallel/square sides. Thanks for your thoughts.
