I've always thought they are one of the best looking frames at the time and they still cut the mustard now I think.

Think I'd have to spec that with full XC Pro.

I forgot to mention:
If this frame was one size smaller (17"), you wouldn't be hearing about it from me, because I'd want it for myself.

I am curious what the original paint looks like up close because I'd like to restore another one that I have.
Is it solid black or is it black with little shiny bits (pearl, metallic, etc.)?

Not only that, but drilled holes off-center (so that the bottle cage would be on the right side of the frame).

To make matters worse, the two holes are off-center by differing amounts. In clock terminology, if forward is the 12 o'clock position, the top hole is at about 1 o'clock while the bottom hole is at almost 3 o'clock, so the bottle cage would be slanted on the frame as well.

Off-center and Slanted.....sounds like an avant-garde, politically incorrect radio morning show.

I remember this one! danson67 bought it from you before I even knew it was on the market! At the time I wasn't sure whether or not it was a repaint.
IIRC, the headset is 1 1/8".
