    Could anyone ID this please?

I have the chance to purchase this cheaply, could anyone tell me what it is via the picture? I only have that to go on I'm afraid, it has Mavic rims, Campag shifters and hubs, 105 brakes.....worth a punt? Many thanks.

    Selling a collection?

I've taken stock and realised that I have way too many bikes, collected over 10 years or so, I'll never get the chance to use/restore most of them, and they are actually making me unhappy when I realise the mess I've got myself into. Has anyone else sold anything similar in the past? To clarify...

    Another ID help thread.

Well, I think I will have to draw a blank on this. Had a look on the headbadge sticker......Grange Cycles, and in faded text I can read 'Phil Maciver' and 'Grange 33333' Grange Cycles was a bike shop quite a few years ago, at Grange over Sands in Cumbria. It seems to be long gone, I'm thinking...

    Another ID help thread.

Hi Paddy....yes, it certainly is the one and only lol. All I could find was the one you mentioned, was hoping for someone amazing to hit this straight away. More research ahead methinks. Cheers guys :)

    Another ID help thread.

I was hoping someone on here would be able to guide me on what exactly I have. Usually my collecting involves old road bikes and 'collectable' retro items, however lately I have been finding myself purchasing retro MTB. I already have a very nice CB (exact model passes me at the minute), a GT...

    Another frame ID please?

Well, the number is 014222, so not sure if anything can be gained from that. If not, it'll just get painted, I'll have to start choosing colours. Luckily I have friends with a blasting place, so next stop will be there I think. Cheers fella. Where in Cumbria are you? I'm from 'out West'...

    Another frame ID please?

Following on from my 'Where to start' thread, I've made a start, and it was on this. Picked up from my source of bikes, the local second hand guy who has the tip contracts in various places. It was bought in a job lot of bikes and probably owes me £10, so I may as well do something with it...

    Where to start?

Well, many thanks for the replies guys, it gave me a little inspiration to make a start this afternoon. I managed to blag (borrow) a fantastic bike stand from a friend who was coming to see me yesterday (from 100 miles away) and he brought some basic bits and bobs too, chain splitter, crank...

    Where to start?

OK, I'll be honest, my knowledge and ability regarding repairing/rebuilding bikes is fairly limited, even though I'm now late 30's. I'm reasonably new to being really interested in them, it has evolved from my general interest in everything from my era, cars, just anything currently 'retro'...

The scrapping of old bikes ! *****YIKES *****

Well, I've been 'at it' again. Popped down to my 'place' earlier, first time in a few weeks that there was anything, well, apart from a very low rent Peugeot from the late 80's a couple of weeks ago. It was £25.....was way too scruffy for that, even had a cracked wheel. But, caught...

The scrapping of old bikes ! *****YIKES *****

I have been buying and selling bikes like these for the last few years. My supply was a guy who had the tip tender, and at the time, he couldn't keep up, I was paying between £5 and £15 per bike. I've had Ribble, a Raleigh Gran Sport, high end Peugeot and Raleigh....in fact my garage currently...

    Raleigh 'Team Colours' bike spec?

I'm not sure at all what it is, a friend called last night and said that he'd just moved one for his boss 'the same colour as that' (pointing at my Team Burner), I'm awaiting some pics and the spec, and then hoping he will sell me it......it was stored in a container, and has been there for years!

    Raleigh 'Team Colours' bike spec?

Thankyou gentlemen, I have set the ball rolling and have sent a message to express my interest. I'm hoping that it may be a decent spec, the fella who owns it doesn't do 'cheap' if you know what I mean. Fingers crossed, and I'll keep you updated :)

    Raleigh 'Team Colours' bike spec?

I've heard on the grapevine about a bike someone has, they saw my Team Burner and mentioned that they had a racing bike in the same colours. I didn't ask too much, and didn't want to seem too keen, but did they do a povo spec bike AND a high spec bike too? Similar to this...

Rust on the frame - Raleigh Record Ace

I hope the gentleman doesn't mind me filling up his thread :) It's all original, and all there by the look of it. I've given the rust a quick rub with T-cut, but I need something slightly more abrasive, as in one of the links above. It will be staying OG paint though, regardless of...

Rust on the frame - Raleigh Record Ace

I picked mine up at the weekend on the car boot, a year or two older than yours, and a little more pitting than that too. I've had a quick look at it with the T-cut and it's getting most of it off with elbow grease. I'm just glad my £15 wasn't wasted
