External brake cables, under or over bars?

I've recently got a bike up and running which came with the cables going over the top of the bars. I've been made aware that they can go behind or under. I have a bike that will have external cables to cable up and was wondering is there a prefered method? What are the pros and cons? Does stem...

    Raleigh Dyna-tech 401t circa 93/94

Finally got this up and running and took it for its first 50k spin today. All as from when purchased last year, apart from some racey Tufo tyres, San marco saddle and some slick white (for now) bar tape. Lightest bike in my arsenal, fairly floating up the hills thanks to the light weight and...

picked this up for 150... lovely condition. minor retouch to an inside of a fork leg, very minor loss on bb, but otherwise looks like new! needs a clean up, especially the transmission. apparently built up from frame only - spent most of its life in the northern peak district. Cinelli...

the wonders of autosol - Knight 70/80s

and patience... very minimal wear, and even that nasty mark on the crank arm is now off with some wet and dry action! everything is cleaning up lovely, and even the frame may be touch upable as the decals are pretty decent and can't be found elsewhere! satisfying indeed.

drilling out a seat pin bolt?

I have acquired a late 70's/early 80s frame with a recessed allen key bolt seat pin. I can't seem to get an allen key to fit it, I have a few, either just too big or just too small. The bolt is a little rounded off. Go out and get a complete set of allen keys, or drill out the bolt? Will...

Side pull or centre pull for mid 60's frame?

I've still not got around to starting my 1966? Percy Stallard frame, but it is time to start buying bits for it. it's 531, quite svelte, the Cotswold version probably 1966 or 67 judging by the number - it's airing towards club ride as oppose to high end race. Before I knew any better i thought...
