Movember 2009

Well gents its nearly that time of year again, yes Movember* starts on Sunday.

*Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men's health.

The mens causes and charities vary around the world, but its all for a good cause and its also probably the most socially acceptable reason to grow a mo these days...

The idea is to start growing on the 1st of Movember, so there's plenty of time to sign yourself up and start regrowing

I too am doing this along with a number of work collegues, In addition to this I will be shaving my head. With permission I will post a link to our sponsorship page for anyone not interested in taking part themselves (Unless AndrewL wants to do this, I dont want to tread on anyones toes). I will also post a pic of my current state of hairyness if anyone is interested.

i havent shaved for over 7 weeks, so this sounds good,

Go for your life, you can put the hard word on all the UK based members, so that everything you raise gets used in its country of origin.

I'll stick to the Australian members, all 10 or so of us...

I have decided to put down my razor for one month (November) and help raise awareness and funds for men's health - specifically prostate cancer.

What many people don't appreciate is that one man dies every hour of prostate cancer in the UK, more than 35,000 men will be diagnosed this year and that prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved and I am hoping that you will support me.

As mentioned in addition to this I will be shaving my head.

Attached is a pic of me in my current state although I now have more facial hair as the pic was taken straight after we had "smart dress" at work so I had to shave.

On the 1st I will upload pics of all involved. It would also be good if anyone else who wants to be involved could post there pics also Pics of what they look like normally \ shaven \ with a tache).
