I've seen a few early Canadian mtbs with road stems, was that a common practice back then? Even a suggestion that they were supplied that way by RM if the customer wanted.
Mind you, in this case the same bar position could be obtained with a flat stem at maximum insertion, so maybe the customer changed his/her mind?
