just bought that size shim from Wiggle for £3

No worries, only mentioned it on the off-chance the shim was a last resort not that there's anything wrong with shimming

Wiggle have one only Cane Creek 25.4-26.6mm shim and Thomson Elite posts in 25.4 x 330mm. They don't have 26.6mm posts, unfortunately.
This would work out marginally cheaper than getting a 26.6mm post from CRC and at least I could always shim the post to some size other than 26.6mm if I ever wanted to in future.
Nice 26.6mm posts are, as you know, like hen's teeth.... :roll:
