Just looked up Holdsworth, Beckenham and Penge since I live in Beckenham. Wow, looks like quite a history but all gone now. I saw Alec Bird Cycles mentioned in there as well, a bike shop I remember as a kid that must be long gone now.

I think Alec Bird took over the Clive Stuart shop as did Brian Rourke in the Potteries.

Clive Stuart, now there's a tale or two!

Have you only got one wheel's worth as well fiks?

do the words 'Great Train Robbery' ring a bell Ned ??????

No Comment (as they say in all the best political interviews)

And they are but stories, no truth in them at all. I was told this yesterday (very emphatically!) by someone who knows the real story.

LF = Low Flange ???? I see high Flange.

Large Flange = LF

Small Flange = SF

It's the usual method of describing them in 'classic' circles.

Isn't it the usual way in the UK? I think only Americans use "high" or "low" flange.
Well I am in Australia and seem to have adopted the American way , I also control my rear brake with my right lever, and the front with the left !! ( as the calipers appear to be designed) Australian "standards" are the other way around .
