I can't believe you haven't quoted my 08 C2C as inspiration (Merlin XLM with only RC36s for company). Incidentally, I ran Specialised ROAD tyres the whole way (admittedly avoiding the Old Coach Road) and I only came off twice as a result! It was a proper grueller for an old geezer like me.

I spotted a slightly later model at Tatton Park VW Northwest show this month. Colours are the seme but decals have been squared off and u-brake has gone.

Also one of my old school friends had this other pic in his living room and on closer inspection Eddie the guy in the middle was riding a Giant Escaper at the time! and to further mess with my head the brake levers in the picture are the exact ones I have used on mine which came from Rob the guy on the right with the explosif.
