No worries Russell - there were loads of people walking all of Symonds Yat when I did it. Annoyingly I'd climbed it when training, albeit at the second attempt so I was quite miffed not to have ridden it on the day. It's a tough event though. 8000 feet is not to be sneezed at!
That descent into Monmouth is great isn't it. By that point I realised I would be lucky to scrape into Bronze so went like the clappers - totally exhilarating.
Great stuff - I can see I'm talking myself into another go next year - need to get even with that evil climb at Symonds Yat!
