Anybody else race RC cars?

I have been into rc cars for years now, never bothered racing any as I just used them for fun.
I have some Tamiya battery cars stored away, a 1/10th scale serpent impact nitro racer.
My main favourites are my collection of 1/5th scale petrol engined beauties. The size of these and the speed they travel is ace! ;)

I will try and get some pics posted tomorrow for anyone interested.

if you want to spend money reallyfast it there :shock: :shock:
also had many many tamiya shelf queens (had to sell them due to illness tho to pay the bills :cry: :cry: :cry: )
still miss my brushless alloy emaxx too now that was a giggle

wow, so many people into rc! ive been racing for 10 years now, club racing mostly 1/10th scale saloon and off road, i did the tamiya euro cup one year, didnt enjoy that tho.

had many cars over the years, had a hpi baja 5bss last summer, too big and noisy tho, used to attract kids like flys on shiv, and that was dangerous. bloody fast tho.

had the most fun racing tamiya m03 minis at ludlow on the polished floor boards, kit standard car with ball races, made some of the local hot-shots with their uber-trick scale saloons with mod motors look silly most of the time!

i booked in for a race in Belguim yesterday, should be nice over there at the start of July :cool:

oh & don't think because i do all the big races i'm any good, actually i'm a bit rubbish LOL
But i do enjoy it & its finally nice to have a hobby that doesn't hurt me :LOL:
 
I used to race 1:10th electric cars back in the day. The last one I had I a Kyosos Lazer ZXR I e-bayed last year 10 yrs old practically unused. It went for a load. I thought it was mostly Nitro cars now days and never used it anyway.

I really fancy a Tamiya Tamtech the really small one from about 16years ago to race around my office.

That track looks amazing by the way. I had a lot of fun racing. Its much the same as bikes. I was always tweeking things.

Are Schumacher still around. I will drive by on my way home and see, they used to be based in Northampton. Anyone remember the Cat?
 
That's right that had just come out when I stopped racing.

I wish I hadn't seen that restored Optima. Looks like its wearing the RC equivilent to Porc's. I was always a micro spike man myself as mainly raced indoors.
 
Schumacher are still around & still doing really well at the moment
their touring cars are still right up there & they just released a new version of the Cat for offroad, the Cat SX

for tenth offroad i run the Associated B4 in 2wd & the B44 in 4wd :twisted:
 
right rc experts,
i dont know f -all about rc cars....... but i want one :LOL: :D
im not going to race it ( i dont think) , but i have just been offered a "mardave v12" complete setup ready to race.... what are these like ? i have been looking at different shells and im quite in to getting a van type shell or a mk1 escort shell.... just for a bit of fun, spraying and sticking the stickers on etc etc.
so im just wondering if they are crap or not ?
or is there a better type of car to go for ?
i dont want to spend mega money.... the one i have been offered is £85.... but i would relucatantly pay £150.
