I've got some threaded pads. A couple of sets, still in the box. I think they're the cartridge type if I remember correctly.

Ritchey WCS grips are still about and they are almost perfect Grab-On shape.
I use them on my Retro MTB's.

eBay from grips, there are quite a few types. I use some nice things ones, with angled edges, that randomly turned up within a month of purchase.
Just buy 5 or so sets as they cost nowt.
I've not found the Wilko's/Tesco/Asda bulky ones to be that comfy.
