I have found a few times lately that the postal rates can vary a lot from the states – sometimes ringing and ordering over the phone can make quite a difference. I more than halved a website rate just by talking to a lady in the office recently. She said the the net rates were inflated somewhat as they had had people load up their shopping basket and check out at the cheap rate …
A chain ring should fit nicely in a padded / cardboard envelope – I think it is called USPS flat rate or similar ?

Homebrewed components is not recommended, the company is in a rebuild process with new owners etc. I have ordered chainrings and cogs nearly 2 years ago and I'm still waiting to receive them.
