1" threaded JIS headset

All I do is neatly run a hacksaw through the crown race, it will then fit on the forks and work well when fitted, have done a lot of miles on a Tange=Seiki one the past year, no problems.
 
Yeah I've heard about others cutting crown races.

I know it would annoy the hell out of me knowing I had the 'wrong' headset in and also getting the cups in is bloody tough. I tried with my palisades in the summer and ended up with cuts and bruises - I don't have a pro tool though.

I have ordered one of the shimano 600 units from spa, we'll see how it goes
 
If you're still in need of another one, I've got a Ritchey Logic here which I've just received from another member, and having offered it up to the frame and forks realised I should have asked if it was JIS or ISO, oops. It's not mint by any means, but only owes me the postage, so could be yours for the princely sum of £2.60?
