1 1/8steerer 25.4mm bars not bothered about rise or length

how much longer should the stem be than the steerer so it clamps up properly?

if you have anything that would be great dont really want to miss out on a fun weekend because of something so stupid

I would think you'd get away with a couple of mil :?
30mm is low for a stack height of a stem.

the steerers about 40mm shorter than the forks i took off so i only have about 30mm to get a stem onto

I have a black Specialized one, pretty sure its about 100mm long. Will dig it out in the morning.

Cant miss a meeting because of a stem, especially when we've all probably got every size available between us, lying idle.

I have a Ragley Stubbing you can borrow, it is only about 55mm length, but stack is around 30.5mm.
