Updated my 1997 Kona Koa

Finally got round to updating my 1997 Kona Koa with a few chance modifications...

18" Kona Koa frame
Pace RC80 bottom bracket
RaceFace headset
RockShox SID ti forks
Gold Chris King hubs (Black spokes & gold nipples)
Middleburn RS8 X-type duo cranks
Crank brothers Eggbeater 3 pedals
Thomson elite stem and seat post
Hope Mono mini front disc brake
Old school XT and brand new XTR throughout...

to name just a few modifications.... Let me know what you think?

Nearly finished the rebuild....

So, after a few months of ups and downs I've finally put together my updated 1997 Kona Koa. Biggest issue was the new BB and Middleburn cranks, but I think I'm finally there....

Here's the spec sheet:

Frame: 1997 Kona Koa 18" - double butted aluminium (orange)

Fork: 2002 RockShox Sid Race fork with 80mm travel & titanium nitride stanchions (white)

Headset: RaceFace (white)
Stem: Thomson Elite (black)
Seatpost: Thomson Elite (black)
Handlebar: Easton Monkey Lite XC high-rise carbon handlebars
Grips: Crank Brothers Cobalt grips (gold)

Front Brake: Hope Mono Mini with 180mm rotor (gold pistons and lever)
Rear Brake: XTR BR-M950 parallel push V-brake (from 1996)
Brake Lever: XT rear brake lever
Shifters: XTR 9speed pod shifters

Front mech: XTR M952 front mech
Rear mech: XTR M972 Shadow SGS rear mech
Cranks: Middleburn RS8 X-type 175mm (black)
Chainrings: Middleburn hardcoat 46T outer, 34T inner
Chain: SRAM PC991 9speed Hollow pin chain
Casette: XTR M970 9 speed titanium 11-32T cassette
Bottom Bracket: Pace RC80
Pedals: Crank Brothers Eggbeater 3 pedals (red & silver)

Front wheel: Chris King ISO 32 hole disc hub (gold), black DT Swiss DB spokes, gold DT Swiss nipples on a 32 hole Mavic XC717 disc rim
Rear wheel: Chris King Classic 32 hole hub (gold), black DT Swiss DB spokes, gold DT Swiss nipples on a 32 hole Mavic X517CD rim
Tyres: Panaracer Fire XC Pro 26 x 2.1" tyres
Skewer: Crank brothers Split QR skewers (black & gold)

~ titanium bolts used throughout and mostly sourced from TiBolts (http://www.tibolts.co.uk)

Weight: Originally listed as 11.3 Kg (24.9 lbs) with PS forks, now weighs 10.6 Kg (23.3 lbs)
