Cycling from Oxenholme Station by Kendal to Hawkshead via Windermere car ferry on Friday afternoon. Only 15 miles says I, pleasant little warm up for Saturday I think and then I look at the weather forecast :facepalm:
Thing that bothers me most though is the 6 miles from Hawkshead to Coniston over a hill in the morning post snowfall all night on a B-Road that may not have seen a gritter or a plough, challenging :shock:
This meet if enough bods make it is going to be an epic

Liking the attitude on this thread, epic indeed, one to tell the grandkids about, real men we am etc. Top stuff
But am I man enough to ss? The only working bike with gears has the snow tyres on already so it might be one or t'other depending on the conditions!
Looking forward to it despite a week of 0230 alarms, naff-all sleep and feeling utterly buggered. Hope mrlee doesn't mind my snoring all the way there...

Will have to make a last minute call I think but not looking good.
I have also noticed there is a triathlon on in grisdale forest and surrounding area
