trek 8700 project

Sorry to hijack the thread mm!......the trek is stunning, the very epitome of what this site is about.....I love it!....

respraying job has begun for mine.
First step, removing the old paintjob, and removing the varnish on the carbon tubes. I could do this last job with a cutter blade. The varnish was like "scotch tape".
I could keep the decals which were in a good shape.

Just cutting the neon orange parts in a adhesive vinyl

And…

Many thanks for Chris2loo and We_are_stevo for collecting that bike for me : afrench connexion story

So what would you do if you work on a bike project since some years… until you find it in a good shape with quite all original parts ?
Here's what I received last friday… :D
After a cleaning week-end…

Very, very nice mate. Just bought a 91 6000 and love the detail on the frame. Love these composite treks. Great build.
