Bwhahaha, Aluminum 819's? That's so retro!
I believe my Carbon Fiber Tubeless rims laced to DT Swiss 190 Ceramic hubs trumps your girly wheels!

....and don't get me started on your BV SE dude....
What I wouldn't do for a threesome with your Bear Valley, and TrailHead's MB AMP.....

'scuse me... having a gentleman crisis at the thought of it

Wow,
Admittedly those sound pretty cool!

I just wanted a set that I could interchange with these if the need arose:

Wag on! :p :p :p

Also, I can ramble on about bikes from the late 70's to early 90's but when it comes to new, I get lost and lean toward old favorites like CK and Mavic.... :|

Back to OP's original question,
Not sure exactly what you are seeking but one rim I like that I believe really has a retro look are the Rhyno lights. I believe you can still get them for a decent price and I have had good luck with them holding up to my lard ass.
