Gay Marriage

Straight men serving Life in prison will engage in homosexual relationships while inside and then go home to their Wife and Family. 'gay for the stay' as they call it in America.

O/T, but I'd question the level of actual choice involved in many of those cases. Repetitive sex does not necessarily equal a relationship of any description.

Videojet, The assumption that only gay men have bum fun is a rather convenient and niave one

yes but only "gay" men have bum fun with other men. or can you prove other wise. ? that isnt an invite by the way. ;)
and still doesnt answer my question.
maybe you should let mr b77 shed some light seeing as he seems to be the resident expert on most subjects.

.

Your presumption that all gay men have bum fun is wrong, a friend of mine is completely adverse to this and reliably informs me that there are many in the gay community who do not engage in this practice .

He again lived a miserable existence before coming out, he was rejected by his father who has since died, and they never spoke again after he shared the news, he knew from a very young age he was gay and wished he wasnt due to the pain it caused him and his family. If there do exist "fashion gays" that make a choice, who i am still not convinced are not simply bisexual or in the process of exploring their sexuality, the vast majority of gay people do not choose to be gay.

As has been said, our sexuality is a continuum, from absolute homosexuality to absolute heterosexuality , where the vast majority of people fall somewhere inbetween, it is not black and white as you like to claim. While it is a cliche, you must understand the inference that is being drawn from your extreme anti gay views here also.

Might be time to get down on your knees and pray out the gay ;)

ok mr b77, just because you shared a flat with the gay community and tried a little bum fun, doesnt make you more of an authority on the subject.
can you support the theory "gay" people are born that way. or is it just that, a theory ?
over to you my learned friend.

'Resident expert' ? Why thank you, that's very flattering

And just for the record it wasn't bum fun it was a just bit of cock sucking and fumbling around. As Charlieboy said not everyone enjoys anal action.

Here we go then. Just the mere fact that throughout history in certain societies homsexuals have been persecuted and generally been treated rather shabbily yet people have persisted to be homosexual and suffer the abuses that go with it, implies that it is not a 'choice'. Would you honestly choose to be and engage in homosexual acts if you knew your liberty of at the worst life would be at risk ?

Sorry to reiterate but you didn't seem to understand. The vast majority of homosexuals that I have asked have said that they new from a very early age (Vaughn stated he knew he was different around 4 years old) that they were 'different'. This isn't my opinion this is something I've heard over and over again.

If it were a choice would so many people choose to be gay even though it would cause pain and humiliation to their families ?

There is no direct proof that homosexuality is genetic, lots say it is lots say it isn't but have a google of epigentic homosexuality and have a peek, the are some long words but I'm sure you'll do fine ;)

The whole fashion gay thing, yes there does seem to be an element of choice there just as in prison, inmates may 'go gay for the stay' but I do not think all homosexuals 'have the choice'

Mr Jetman, would you be willing to engage in conversation with a few gay persons to get their point of view ?

On a totally unrelated topic, are you called VideoJetMan because you are into flight sims ?

Edit: my wife has just seen this and has just said 'If it were a choice I would definately be a lesbian because in general men are ******* idiots as a lot of the posts in this load of crap is proving, why are you even bothering arguing with that connard, why don't you have any gay men putting their point of view ? Stupid Mammals'.

Edit: She's just come back in. 'If you all stopped talking like ducks on these forums and went ouside and met people maybe you wouldn't have to have these word fights'

I especially like 'Stupid Mammals' and 'Talking Like Ducks'.

it's my job, i print barcodes & sequential numbers. totally boring really.
but i dislike playing computer games, so mind numbing, prefer to play music, or ride my bike.
thanks for asking.

well there is no clear answer to this.
but i still think it's down to choice.
the same can be said for drug addicts, they choose to take drugs and live miserably.
if you make choices in life which make you miserable, you live miserably.
and as for my "extreme anti gay views".
i am not prejudice against "gay" people.
i may not agree with their "choices" but they are human beings.
like i say, being in the minority has its price.
i'm not here to fit in and be agreeable to everyone's opinion.
but i do respect opinions, and never insult anyone i don't agree with.

this has been informative, thanks for keeping this civil enough to not get it locked.

Yes obviously.

Nothing to do with addiction, highly addictive drugs nor people with addictive personalties.

Such broad sweeping statements and easy labeling (see the pun!) and pigeon holing of people is quite blase and shows little knowledge of the subject for example those with medical conditions that require pain relief to be able to just exist, you develop a tolerance then require more which can so easily become an addiction - unwittingly and unwillingly.

everything is sooooo black and white not shades of grey (no pun intended)

Racist!

Seriously though, if you are going to refer to how small a percentage of gays choose to be gay as though it were insignificant, then you would need, for the sake of consistency, to ignore the very small minority of gay men who profess to desist from certain activities.

I also don't feel Videojetman has posted anything particularly anti gay here. Let us not all start jumping on each other again.

Fnarr! fnarr!

I wasn't aware the sexuality of posters here was underneath their avatars! Oh, it's not.

Guessing, with the average age here being north of 30, most of us have 'been there and done that' to a large extent.

In my case that includes having worked with terminal AIDS patients in hospital and community settings, buddying for THT with HIV+, and socialising and living with many folks on the LBGT spectrum, including family members and ex partners.

I don't feel I am going to learn much here but I would not presume to tell anyone they are homophobic because they don't agree with my views. Everyone should feel free to air their views and hopefully share the group insight. What other reason is there for the discussion?
