Wow, as many have said, such a shame, but it lived fast and died young. Thankfully you didn't follow suit!!!

Makes me want to stick slicks on my bikes and only ride on pavements miles away from any small drops, let alone ones like that.

I'd have made the same repair with bailing twine and gaffa tape, but hey, each to their own.

Great to know "it lives" after such a sad demise, and better it was just the bike that went 'over the edge'.

So true, never worried about myself though ........ but just read another Dutch biker of my age (37)fell down a 120m cliff in the Swiss alps and didn't live to tell :cry: ...... gave me the shivers
