Who's the greatest?

I guess you know that Tim Gould never actually rode a peugeot? The frames were all variations of Chas Roberts white spiders, which were supposed to be pretty good back then.

I thought that Tim Gould Peugeot were Ritchey P22 or 23 .

they had a massive team at the time .

hmm, I thought they were Ritchey too, but long time ago and memories fade.

Either way, P22/Roberts - they are both pukka frames. No way these would hold you back.
As far as backing goes, have to agree really. Support and overall promotion just isn't up to the americans.

The Look Peugeot team was massive with a lot of good riders .

Sophie Eglin was french xc champ for 5 years , Philippe Perakis , a swiss was a great downhiller .

Gould was the better pure climber (who could forget 1st in the world champs hillclimb), but as an old rounder (esp on power courses & DHs) Tomac was better overall..... hell this is becoming retro top trumps

damn, I really hate tomac. He is just too damn popular.
Tim Gould talks funny, like, too.

Johnny T 4 me.
It wasn't just the fact he was a truly talented rider, he had the charisma and ingenuity to boot.

Tomac, Gould, Overend. Take your pick.

All round rider? The chap on the left, no questions asked.

 yeh right, merx on a DH mtb, clearing double jumps, crossed up? He was awesome for attacking everywhere, not a fraction of Tomacs skill tho ;) Tomac won worlds in both XC & DH... I mean come on! ;)

...thinking about it Furtado won worlds in both XC & DH as well...
