ive just welded a Airborne Pukka wallop ware it snapped at the flex plate.

Yeah, I'd like to see welding in more than one plane at the bb to ensure the flex was in the plate rather than the weld. Looks like a bit of undercut on the lh chainstay weld.

Don't get me wrong, tis very nice, I wish I could afford one!
 
I don't know, but this frame has undergone 10 years of testing before hitting the production line (according to the guys at Funk). Having a flex plate cracking on a lifetime guaranteed frame would be quite dumb.

read a very interesting interview with "mr. funk" a year ago. don't have the link at hand but it would be a good fit for this thrad as he explains his decision making for this frame.

Probably put on some sot of test rig and flexed as many times as it would be in 10 years of riding.
