Shimano 600 Headset Crown Race (Or Whole Headset)

Hi, my crown race has cracked. Does anyone have a suitable spare or something which will sub in its place? Either a crown race or a headset for spares would be nice.

The headset looks roughly like this:

I have a spare XTR one form the right sprt pf period...do you have a pic of the cracked part.
Yours for the postage of ot looks right.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the reply. Here's a picture of the crown race which I popped out this morning:

Outer dimension is 37mm diameter. Inner diameter is 26.6mm. Cup depth from top of cup to the ridge where my thumb is touching is ~4mm.

Is the crack actually a problem? It's not going anywhere and if you sand it smooth it won't impede bearing movement.

Some FSA headsets come with a split race as standard to make fitting easier.

Unfortunately it spreads open as you tighten the headset. In order to get it tight enough such that there is no play, the headset ends up too tight to turn the forks.

Sorry Roddy, My XTR race is 42.4 overall diameter.

I've got a 1" STX around somewhere, I'll measure that too, just in case...
