The *NOT BORING!* Hi-Fi faff chat and sales

LGF, I love to read about your views on phono leads, have been saying the same for years!

I made all my own for a few quid with leads/plugs from Maplin - with 6 channels, and a load of sources, no way was i going to pay a stack load anyhow. Gold plated plugs are handy as reduces oxide and intermetallic corrosion which can build over time (not that can hear the diff, but can give intermittent contact if left).

But buggered if I can ever tell the difference between any cable I tried.

Is the CD63 the KI Sig model? Could be tempted if so..

An acquaintance of mine designed a very high-powered amplifier that fitted into a 1u rack space. He took it to the US to try and sell to the hi-fi market. "It won't do," the reviewers said, "it sounds rough, you can tell that it's come from the world of live sound. Doesn't cut it as a hi-fi amp." He then put it in a new case, removed the rack ears and called it something nicer. Surprise surprise, on his next trip Stateside everyone raved about it...

if it were a KI it would be more expensive unfortunately.

Cables soldered by dusky maidens automatically sound better btw.

No worries!

Too true.. especially if soldered in an East West direction

Probably inappropriate here, but anyways... what is a classy way to use my OL turntable to record some lossless files onto my Mac??
