trying to get an lx,xt or xtr front mech for my super v.

Seems that shimano just do one type of front mech now.....but its too bloody high on the rear triangle:(

Not sure what size it is but hopefully someone out there will have more of a clue than I have!

I know I need a bottom swing, bottom pull but thats about all I know....:(
 
I have a XT one for you. Not retro but a M750:

ive got a feeling that the band has to be above the mech "arm" trying to find a pic but cant :( might just have to singlespeed it at this rate :(
 
then you don't want a 'top swing', you want a 'standard' (where the band is above the arm.
