Sorry for you peeps who don't 'get' F1, but the Guardian Formula One pre-season supplement is always a joy to read.
This year it's just brilliant!

Being that I live in Melbourne, I popped down to watch qualifying today. I don't 'get' F1 anymore, haven't since the turbo days. But from an engineering standpoint, I sure can appreciate the effort involved in designing, building, and piloting one of those missiles. We are sorry about the rest of the world having to get up at stupid o'clock to watch the race live, and there are steps in place to hold the race much later in the day here! My only wish is that there is a 8000RPM rev limit imposed so that the damn things stop making such a dreadful & irritating noise. Shame you probably wont get to see our local 'V8 Supercar' format, which are racing as a support catagory. Touring cars on steroids!
