Two weeks ago snapped my MF bouncy and was trawling for something to put the bits on. Saw this on the local gumtree a weeks ago, picked it up for the princely sum of £50. Loose forks. Loose press fit square taper BB. Covered in grease.

Closer inspection revealed a brooks B17' mint xt thumbies, an original yellow zefal pump and 1 1/4 headset.

Stripped and cleaned to expose the full Beauty of the 90s flouro paint job. Pressed in the BB bearings, threw the xt/xtr from the MF at it and voila! Finished within a week. Another travesty of a build THM style.

First ride today. Can you guess the who and where?

The ride is hilarious! Very light steering, rigid and jolly good fun in a cheap trashy disposable kind of way. And it carried my svelte self across the treacherous mudflats without incident.

Hope you like it half as much as I do. Bikes should make you smile, this one does if you can look at it for long enough.

RIDE! THM

Silver seat post arrived today mus.

Thanks to the guys who helped with the ID and gave advice re BB.

All good for now. The sand has smoothed the bearings out a bit.

That's what it's all about HM ;)
Well , judging from your location , maybe at the Wye somewhere ? Although the last pic looks more Cornwall :?

Nothing cheap and trashy about that! Quality bike.

I hadn't realised you'd busted the Muddy Fox - is there a thread with the evidence?

Oops

Oh no! Not easy to fix that and still maintain strength. Bugger.

The photo's don't do the colour justice, it is bright and I mean BRIGHT

Interestingly, both bikes in the photo are from around 1992.

Ahh that'll be North Somerset, recognize the pier :)
Stayed there the other week after picking up a frame from a R'ber down the road.

Interesting looking frame. Is it a really rigid ride with those big tubes?
