Some history. Initially owned by a friend for the first few years of its life, it was involved in a collision with a car on a traffic island. Insurance paid out for a full replacement and let my friend dispose of the frame - I paid the princely sum of £10 for the lightly damaged frame/forks. The rear triangle had to be re-aligned with some cold-setting - the left seat/chain stays aren't perfect, but are safe enough to ride.

Looks a little tired now, but I like the patina that such age brings. Sure I could get it resprayed, but what use is a garage queen ? Component wise, nothing flashy, just functional, solid kit. Rides just like a legend should - fast, comfortable and could last all day (unlike its rider).

BTW does anyone have a scan of the Clockwork review in MTB Pro magazine ? IIRC it was in the first 2 or 3 issues but I haven't found it yet.

Update for 2014 : XT V-Brakes / Levers / Shifters (lovely :)) with new cables and a re-grease of the LX headset
