Classic Bates of London Tourer

A classic bike with a now rare Bates of London frame with their unique Cantiflex tubes and Diadrant forks (see photos). It dates from the late 1950`s but is in good condition with genuine Bates decals.

22 1/2 inch frame, 73/71 angles. 12 inch bottom bracket height suitable for fixed wheel. Reynolds 531 brazed with traditional lugs.

27 inch wheels with 5 - speed Shimano SIS gearing.

Some original equipment: Brooks B17 Champion Narrow saddle, Harden front hub and Williams C1000 chainwheel, with two interchangeable rings.

£500. Located Bristol. Buyer to collect but might agree to meet.

So can anybody tell me why some people would rather have a modern bike when you can have a thing of beauty like this
