Mid 1980’s Mercian Strada Speciale bicycle, recently rebuilt and resprayed (at a cost of £800) by Mercian Cycles of Derby. Hence its immaculate condition.

What was the reason for the repaint and do you have any pics of it before?

Hi

The bike was my father's, he took it to Australia in the 1980's and kept adding modern bits onto the frame over the years. There was a bit of surface rust when he passed away, I had the bike crated and shipped from Australia to Mercian at Derby, and they restored it to its current spec.
