23"-ish 1950s-ish Slack Angled F&Fs

72º seatube max. and curvy forks. Reynolds 531 or Accles and Pollock tubing?

Lightweight road/clubman frame - mudguard eyes and clearance

Don't want anything that needs an immediate re-enamel or rust bucket. Would like a workable/touch upable well used frame with a few more miles in it yet :)

Frame and forks only required

Hey there, I know the kind of frameset you're looking for and I'm not sure if this qualifies but I have this Dawes for sale https://www.flickr.com/photos/86540061@ ... 750277784/

It was sold to me as being 40s but I doubt it's that old, maybe 50s or 60s? Either way it built up into a really nice relaxed pub bike with some moustache bars.

Has the following spec:
- 55cm ctc seat tube, 57cm ctc top tube
- 27.2 post
- To take 27" wheels
- British thread headset and bottom bracket (both perfect)
- Features pump on top tube, mudguards eyes, lamp bracket on fork, and long, semi-horizontal rear dropouts (with no gear hanger for some reason though)
- Also has original badge which is really nice, and fitted with original headset which could do with regreasing.

Was originally looking for £60 but have been listening to offers (would probably take ~£67.50 posted)

Sorry to get your hopes up with a thread notification if it doesn't fit the bill!

Hi, thanks for your post. It's exactly the kind of frameset I'm after but alas it's smaller than required :(

Shame, as an early Dawes would have fitted in with my mainly Midlands built other steeds.

Cheers, Paul

Aw no sorry about that! Just double-checked it and it's more like a 56cm seat tube centre-to-centre, so I guess 22" seat X 22 1/2" top in old money...

Let me know if you think it might work, if not then good luck with your hunt!

PS sounds like a cracking collection :)

I guess that rules out my 1953, 23", fillet brazed, Hobbs of Barbican finished in a rather fetching flam red.

The natural born wonderer in me has sent a PM :D
