a very original Sriroco went thruogh local auction house for a mind blowing £42 beating my left bid of £40 for a bike that looked like it had never seen the road .

Crikey, that sounds like a missed boat! Wish I'd been there. The Sirocco was the bike I really wanted when I was a teen, but I got the quasar which served me exceptionally well for years and years pre cars, I guess like many people, nostalgia is a powerful motivator!
