a steerer of at least 6.5inch is the main thing. any thing considered as long as its not really heavy or complete pooh ie zoom or sr suntour its for the missus bike im building ps i wont handle anything over 100mm thanks from me 
11/8 steerer fork sus or rigid not fussed but now sorted
