FS Saddles: Cinelli Volare, San Marco Concor, Laser, Brooks

Hi all,

I'm the process of listing loads of stuff. I'm trying to do it batches. Wheels & most frames are done, and here are the saddles. Everything else is to follow. If there's anything in particular that you're looking for, please drop me a PM.

Cinelli Volare SLX - £38
Well used but with no tears. The flap on the underside just needs glueing.

Very good. No scuffs or tears but missing logo on one side.

Good leather but with a couple of tears.

Brooks B17 Brown Leather w) Punched holes for laces. - £35
Weathered but still plenty of life left. Leather is fine. The nose has a tear in it (see pics).

Selle Royal 'Coppi Edition' - £32
Very good. No tears or scuffs. Very nice indeed.

Selle Italia RS White Saddle - £30
Good. Used to come as stock saddle on Eddy Merckx bikes. Nice worn look.

Selle Italia XO Black/Red Fabric - £20
Good condition but with a few marks and a little scuff on one of the fabric corners. Lovely saddle.

I don't want to p*** on your parade, but that XO Transam has been used, quite heavily. Look at the nose, there should be (and is still, faintly) the XO logo. The Selle Italia oval is missing from the rear, which has happened to mine, after about 2000 miles.

Also that Brooks is shot, the "rip" has been caused by either the tension bolt being over tightened, or the leather getting wet then drying out too many times, which causes the leather to crack. Those rivets are the only way that the leather attaches to the front of the saddle frame, so if you used it there is a good chance it would collapse after a few miles of use.

Like I say, don't want to pee on your parade, but do appreciate honesty in advertising

I'm not a fraud. I ALWAYS try and describe items accurately, and people that have bought from me in the past will tell you the same.

Lots of people buy and sell used parts on here, so it's not like you can say exactly how many miles a certain saddle or chain ring has done. If you choose to buy used parts then you are always running the risk of it having a short lifespan.

In this case, the pictures are almost of professional quality and they are taken from lots of angles. So I would say anyone that seen these would know exactly what they were getting. Which is alot more than some of the stuff I buy on ebay that arrives at my door with dings in frames etc that weren't pictured or mentioned!

To say that wblenkin is dishonest is incredibly harsh in my opinion. ( Does this now qualify me for a 10% discount? )

Neither did I say this. If in doubt, go back and re-read my post. I am very careful what I say. FWIW I have hung around forums long enough to know that anything you say can (and will) be taken, turned around and used to beat you over the head with. If I had said "you are a fraud", then fair enough, but I have not used the word fraud or dishonest in my post. Once again, if you re-read it you will see that in fact I am trying to assist, not put him/her down.

I agree that the pictures are good (won't go as far as saying they are pro quality, but are definatly good enough to be able to see any issues). In fact if the pictures hadn't been that good I wouldn't have been able to tell you about these issues

Try to be positive, help one another, ok? Oh and good luck selling those saddles.

tiermat - I wasn't offended, I do appreciate you pointing that out. I didn't mean "hey don't call me a fraud", I was just re-assuring you/others that there were mistakes in the listing. Notice the duplicate of the desciptions with the XO saddles, and the above one is quite obviously barely used. I take care when grading things, as I have been on the receiving end of plenty of badly listed items.

There's no beef.

seeing the small ads here and LFGSS I wonder what the deal is with used saddle prices?? considering you can get a new Selle Italia Turbo in White or suede for 39 squid and same for a leather Rolls, any used saddle over 25 quid seems odd?? am I missing something?? :shock:
I've got a white perforated Colnago and Brown suede Unicanitor that I haven't put up for sale as I have no idea what they are worth....
