For a brief period in the early 90s we went slightly mad: we thought nighttime mountain biking was a good idea. So we tooled up with the best lighting systems and went out. After a week we realised it was insane. Shadows caused perception problems, big animals moved about in the woods, and we crashed a lot. So these systems have hung about and I’ve used them only a few times - they’re a rare retro find and in absolutely as new condition.

Vistalite VL 520 one 10 watt halogen with ni-cad batteries. Complete with all fittings and charger. Cost 139.95 asking 25.00 plus pp

Vistalite VL 530 10watt and 5 watt lamps and battery - no charger but any ni-cad intelligent charger will do it. 25.00 plus pp

Cate eye Micro halogen double lights plus lead acid battery pack 2x6 watt, charger and all fittings 20.00 plus pp

Spare Cat Eye 3 Amp Hour lead acid battery - 10.00 plus pp

The vista lite lamps are beautiful retro things, really high quality bits of kit. All these would go toward a really weird and out there addition to a retro build. PM if interested.

Apologies photos in reverse order - cateye then vistalite

Re: Retro lighting systems - vistalite and cat eye

Ha ha - that's funny!

I remember getting one of the earliest 'NiteSun' lighting systems, and having those same experiences/problems at times ... altho we did ride at night numerous times for a few seasons, just because.

Re:

Anyone who has handled the vistalite will know they are beautiful fittings - lovely design and high emgineering standards. I’d like to move them so offers or swap?
