Hi all. For sale on behalf of my friend is this wheelset. They are not perfect so please read the description!

Both rims are Mavic 231 and in decent, useable condition. The front hub is Shimano LX, the rear Shimano DX and both seem to run straight. The front hub seems in fine but the rear would benifit from a strip down as although it feels better after a tighten when it arrived there was a fair amont of movement. I'd have done it myself but have not got a tool to get the cassette off. As for the cassette it's got the wiff of something reasonable but I can't see any model number stamped on it. Overall if you sort the rear hub these wheels should be good to go.

As for the tyres they are front and rear specific Panaracer Magic in yellow (is that the correct description?). These look good and are not cracked but are very dry so I would not recommend riding them. Fine for a non user as they look good and will probably clean up even better but in my opinion they should not be used in anger so buyer beware.

With all that in mind how does £50 posted sound? Don't really know where to pitch these but we'll see how they go.

SOLD.

I bought these in a flurry of enthusiasm, and have ended up with more wheels than I need... I've also got some wheel builds planned so really they are surplus to requirements...

If anyone can use them I'd be happy to pass them for what they owe me (i.e. £50 plus postage at cost or collect from South Devon)

...to add to the original post it looks to me that the cassette is actually made of up two different cassettes... and that it's held on with a uniglide lockring... I don't have two chain whips to remove so I'm not 100% sure what's going on...

Re:

Weird about the cassette. All I knew was my cassette tool didn’t fit! I think I had some more interest in these after you bought so hopefully you can move them on without trouble.

Re:

Thanks dude. I could be wrong about the cassette.

...not too bothered if I end up keeping them, they're nice wheels and only need a little bit of TLC... bound to come in handy sooner or later... but as ever, there's way too much bike stuff cluttering up the place...so if someone else can use them then all good.
