Cinelli Bikes c. 1981

I've just been loaned some Cinelli brochures to scan from around 1981/82 and thought you might like to see the images. First off are the road bikes.

The ladies version is described in 'Italo-English' -

'"Sophisticated Lady" - special colour painting in refined combinations with the anodic oxidation coloured accessories.' Complete with sprints and tubs and a frame in a fetching shade of Pink.

And then there is a special Black and Gold version.

I wonder how much extra this was with the 18carat gold bits!?

beautiful bikes. The ladies version is pretty extravagant - even the cassette is anodised blue! I really like it tho. The ultimate retro ride for the Mrs?

That pink woman's bike is weird-looking!

A top of the range Campagnolo equipped Cinelli bike but with a ladies shopping bike frame

And that's without even taking the blue anodised bits into account.

It's not exactly shopping bike tubing on it though! Nice high quality Columbus...

I do agree that it would be better as a conventional diamond, but I suspect it's becoming a style v. substance discussion :roll:
