Vintage Campagnolo Super Record Brake Lever Ferrules

Brodwell

Retro Newbie
Hello, first time posting on here as I’ve been unable to find the answers I’m looking for!

As part of a vintage Peugeot PZ restoration, I bought a pair of Campy SR levers (non aero obviously) and I need some advice/help as to how the outer brake cables are secured to the levers.

Do I need a certain ferrule to fit in to the top of the levers? Are the hoods supposed to keep the outer brake cable in place? If I do need a specific ferrule where can I get them? Any and all responses are appreciated!

Re:

That seems very expensive. I have a new couple spare if you want to contact me Brodwell I will send you them.

I think those are Weinmann style ferrules and may not be suitable for Campag levers? If you use a cable that has a ferruled end fitted to it then this should just slide into the cable hole in the lever. I'll check on some photos and see if I'm right. Not going down the bike shed to check in this weather!

EDIT - these the ones?

An ordinary plain cable end ferrule is all that is needed.

Re:

As long as you have the broad Campag style outer casing ferrules, they should anchor perfectly into the body of the lever. Make sure and add some anti seize (copper grease) compound to your inner cable end before you anchor it at the brake lever.
