Thought I'd add my story to the many circulating on the forum regarding removing a stuck post with Caustic soda, I'll add some more detail later of some time saving hints that may help anyone contemplating this method.
Whilst there are several great write-ups on this subject, I'd add that samc's ("and yer Momma too") version finally convinced me to have a go and I have to say that with some foresight and time spent in the prep stage, there is barely anything that can go wrong with regard to damaging either the frame or paint.
You'll see from the pic that prior to the caustic treatment, I spent some serious time with the hacksaw blade down the post method and even after cutting a whole section out and trying in a vice...didn't budge a knats whisker...this thing had forever become an integral part of the frame....or so I thought!
Off to clean it out - Laters...
