Retro Newbie
first post here, not sure if its in the right place.

picked this bike up a few months back, converted it to a singlespeed since then. sorta, not removed inner chainrings or downtube shifters

been trying to find out something about the builder. Andy Powell, i think from bristol - going by the 2 bristol city crests on the tubes.

what i do know is that it is Reynolds 531 frame and fork.

Cinelli quill stem and bars.

Dura Ace Chainset - 52/42 - 12-34 6 speed rear cassette.

Brakes, Levers, downtube shifters, both derailleur's are R600.

Saddle is "handmade in Spain" although the logo has worn off, as has the saddle, looks faded. Seatpost is Campagnolo

Maillard 700 Compact hubs, 36 spoke on Tubular rims, logo faded with 22mm Wolber tyres.

going by the crankset its roughly 1980s, not sure exactly.

just wondering if anyone has heard of the builder and what happened to em.

would post picture but wont let me :?

cheers

Overbury's in Bristol. Established about 1900, I knew old Mr Overbury, who passed the shop on to Arthur Powell around 1950. The shop was then taken on by Mrs. Powell, and later her son Andy.
I don't know who built the frames.
