De Rosa Primato

Retro Newbie
Hi guys, I'm going to look at a De Rosa Primato tonight. The frame is quite chipped, but it still has all the Campagnolo Groupset (no wheels or saddle). It does however have a carbon fork with both TIME and SAAB stickers on it and the seller says it was once an American Pro team bike. Anyone have any ideas or information about it?

Fork is not original spec, for sure. On a Primato (as opposed to Neo Primato) you'd expect to see a threaded chrome fork. AFAIK Primato would be with custom Nivacrom tubing and diamond profile chainstays.

Have a slightly later Giro D'Italia which is essentially a lighter Primato (Columbus EL tubing) which was replaced in the range around 97 or so by the heavier but stronger Neo Primato, which is still available today. Has been available with a myriad of different forks and colour schemes over the last 10 years.

Here's some closeups so you know what to look out for.
