Trek Y-11 Help!

Hi Guys,

First proper post so hopefully you can help me!

Have got a 95 Trek Y-11, and the front forks........ original Judy XC's (the bronze ones) have seen better days. I would like to replace them with something a bit better but am having trouble finding the right info. Some places say 1' steerer, some say 1' 1/8th, and I can't find anything concrete for the year I have.

Can anyone help with getting me the right info?

I believe they're 1 1/8th, but any doubts, you should be able to simply measure the steerer tube. Just remove the top cap on the stem and use a tape measure. Difference between 1" and 1 1/8th are noticeable enough..
 
Deffo 1 1/8". Also don't use more than 80mm travel otherwise it'll upset the handling. I know because I once fitted a set of RST Mozo XL forks to mine. They were the 4.5" travel variety. On the positive side it made it easy to pop a wheelie. :LOL: :LOL:
