Its has K2, scott and Vitus decals....
Lugged and brazed frame details with full brake outer cable top tube routing, seatstay pump pegs
DX front mech, scott SE brakes, Mk1 gripshift and a mavic headset......

LGF ........ I know its definately not a zaskar.

Not seen the back end like that before with the tops of the stays wrapped into the top tube. Have seen plenty of road bikes like that.

I'd say around 1989 for the frame and some of the parts that might have survived from new.

Have found a similar but not Giles Berthoud which uses the same drop outs and cable routing but its not quite the same

Would hazard a guess at a low volume builder, maybe unfashionable at the time hence the rebranding or that it was nicked and a rebranding took place.

What ever it is it, it looks quality. My guess is that the vitus decals look right for the period suggested. Also another guess is orbit.
Did orbit produce such frames like this that were fillet brazed. That would tie in with the seat stay lugs possibly.
