... is the noise no longer coming from my seatpost. On sunday once again regreased the carbin post byt in addition put a tiny dab of carbon paste on the dome shaped spacers, the semicircular tube under the rails and most significantly dab on the cylinders that the bolts go through.

Silence is golden. ;)

not sure it is carbon related; the two metal cylinders live inside the two holes in the alloy insert at the end of the post; so the interface is steel-alloy.

the "Tupperware" container stop the sides of the saddle being scraped when the bike is leant against the wall. a smaller yoghurt pot does the same for the handlebar.
 
Bit of carpet on the wall does a good job of protecting bikes, car doors etc in the garage.

Can't beat a silent bike though, I detest creaks, groans, clunks, or thunks, just the whir of the chain and the rumble of rubber on terra firma is where it's at ...

This is all too much to take in. Yogurt pot handle bar protectors and not protecting ones ring piece by using car waxing cloths.

Going for a Jagermeister and lie down for a while.
