Rocky Mountain Fusion

Retro Newbie
Hi all,

I just picked up a Rocky Mountain Fusion (possibly 1995) for free. It does need some TLC, (new chain, cassette etc) and I was looking for some advice on doing some upgrades. I was hoping to fit a double chainset, switch out the forks for the ones on my GT which are Rockshox Psylo and switch out the grip shifters.

The serial number is T9505. Bearing in mind I have very little experience in bike mechanics and upgrades. I'm not against taking it in to a bike shop, but I would like to try do as much as I can myself, once I have the required tools.

I've attached some pictures below.

Cheers!

Re:

Any reason for a double chainset, if not just use what you have there. You'll have a wider choice of gears available.

Fork probably will be, but any reason for the extra travel.

Gripshift, up to you but I'd keep them.

Re:

I just wanted to cut down on weight, but could leave it as is. The gears actually works pretty well as it is. The forks are really stiff though so I would like to change them out.
